What
is MyOwnJournal?
MyOwnJournal is a place to electronically store your journal online.
Not only do we allow you to store your journal, but we also make it
possible to connect with other people and make friends! With the way
our community is set up it is easy to search and find people of the
same interest, or people in the same location as you.
MyOwnJournal
has made it easy to keep in contact with people you meet with the same
interest. You simply add them to your buddy list. After you do that
you can view any of their future entries from your friends page. This
makes it easier on you so you don't have to flip from journal to journal
to journal.
Is
MyOwnJournal free?
MyOwnJournal is free for all users, as long as they only want
the basic membership options only. The basic options are really the
core options you would need. Update your journal, friends page, calendar,
icons, photo gallery and so fourth. Some of the premium features are
available to basic members, but they are limited. For instance Premium
Members get Unlimited Photo Album Uploads, Unlimited Icon
Uploads, and unlimited image uploads for entries. Basic members can
upload 3 photo album pictures, 3 icons, and can not use the image upload
for entries. Basic memberships are free, but if you decide later that
you want the premium benefits you can always upgrade.
How
did MyOwnjournal get started?
MyOwnJournal got started in September, 2003. With the growth
of online communities we wanted to create a site that made it easy for
the users to communicate and make new friends. The idea started when
the creator of the website Clint Chaney was keeping a journal at BroadBandReports.com.
The journal was just text and that's all, not customizable. Clint decided
to venture on his own and make a fully customizable journal that anyone
can use. Thus how MyOwnJournal came to what it is today.
Who
Runs MyOwnJournal?
MyOwnJournal is run by a very small staff. We have only 3-4 people working
on the site at a time. A lot of the work is handled by volunteers. These
are people that would just like to help out with the site and keep it
running smooth. Clint Chaney built the site on his own in September
of 2003. The site went live in November of 2003. Because of MyOwnJournal's
popularity it relys a lot on its users, those who use the site day in
and day out as a religion.
How
can I help?
MyOwnJournal would not stay alive without its users! So if you want
to help out there are several things you can do!
* Get a
paid account. - If you are new to the site when you REGISTER
choose one of the premium account options. If you are an existing member
you can UPGRADE your account to become
a paid user. The benefits alone are worth upgrading.
* Make
a suggestion! - If there is something you would like to see on the site,
let us know! We have a section in our forum specifically for that.

for support. If you are familiar with the site or the technical side

MyOwnJournal is always looking for ways to improve! If you
